Why I’m Returning to Blogging: 6 Months of Journaling and Storytelling
After years of social media content, I’m going back to my roots. Join me for this 6-month blogging experiment as I share personal stories, lessons and reflections.
I’ve decided to go back to the roots and run an experiment for the next six months…
Most of you don’t know how this all started. Before I reveal the experiment I’m embarking on, and where I’m inviting you to join me, let’s travel back in time for a moment.
It’s 2014. I’m working for one of the biggest publishing companies in Romania as a Digital Project Manager. I started at the company as a writer, and even though I love my job, it no longer includes writing, just managing writers and other projects.
At the time, Facebook wasn’t such a big deal (at least not for me). I only used it to post photos from fashion events, and I didn’t really care about it.

Then one day, I shared a photo my friend Elena took in the office, along with an inspirational quote. Mind you, I had nothing to do with personal development back then and didn’t even know the term existed.
Suddenly, more likes than usual, more interaction, more engagement. I realized fashion doesn’t have to be meaningless, it can actually inspire people. So I sat down with my friend Elena, and we started brainstorming. We had access to this beautiful fashion world, and we both loved writing. How about we try blogging?
We decided on different visions for our blogs (for example, she wanted to write in Romanian, and I wanted mine in English). Instead of creating one platform together, we chose separate blogs and full mutual support – the kind of unconditional support that’s been there since day one, and still is today.

We scheduled our first fashion photo shoot together. We brought in collaborators who believed in our dream (and of course, we didn’t have any budget to pay them, so they joined us in our craziness for free, and I’m forever grateful to them).
My blog was called Impressivity, a name that simply came to me from Divinity, in my sleep. I share more about it here
Each photo shoot had a fashion component and a storytelling part. Dating, traveling, books, movies, friendships, relationships – I wrote about everything going on in my life. It became a public journal, my unique corner of the internet, healing me without me even knowing it. My mission was simple: to get at least one person to read and learn from my mistakes so they wouldn’t repeat them.
I kept blogging during the most challenging times: when I went through panic attacks and high spikes of anxiety, during my therapy journey, my move to London, and later as I grew into coaching and personal development. Many of my blog posts aren’t online anymore because I switched my blog to my personal brand website.
Fast forward to today – I miss writing. I share so much content on social media: I curate visual photos, create reels, and write business storytelling for my brand and my clients. But I miss the other kind of writing, the one where I share my lessons and my stories with no mission other than to impact at least one soul who reads them.
Over the years, I’ve received many messages about how my book or my posts have impacted people’s lives. And recently, I learned how far the power of words can go when I discovered that an article I published 13 years ago led to a justice movement in another country.
I know words can heal just as much as they can hurt. But I also know words are powerful, they carry meaning, they carry energy.
So here’s my experiment:
For the next six months, I’m going to share a weekly blog post about something meaningful I’ve learned – personal stories, reflections and ideas. Pure storytelling and journaling in one place.
Because the only way I can exemplify what I teach is by practicing what I preach.
